Thanks for that, Larry. Really enjoyed it. The SAAF flew Shackletons on coastal patrol missions until quite recently. They have all been pensioned off now. One had to land in the Sahara en route to a festival in the UK & was never recovered. All the SAAF Harvard trainers were either scrapped or sold privately. They had a lot. The private ones still participate at air shows. I remember driving on a rural road not far south of Phalaborwa some years ago when a couple of Canberras gave us a hell of a fright when they shot past only about 100m away in a valley to our right! The SAAF has no flying Spitfires left. They restored a few but they all subsequently crashed.
