Thanks to a kind list member who's upgrading I too have been able to
upgrade from the K20D to a lightly used K-5II. Listen folks I'm not
easy on my equipment, the K20D suffered from a having it's AF point
display having been knocked out of center, battery door latch broken,
cracked viewfinder glass, yet it still took pretty good photographs. I
expect that the repairs would have cost more than a lightly used K-7
from KEH, so I'm going to continue to use the K20D "as is" for a,
backup/unforgiving environment body, until something so bad happens to
it that it ceases to function.
So far I'm very happy with the K-5II there are a number of things that
are down right annoying, which I'm sure everyone who's moved from the
K10/20 to the K7/5 cameras had to deal with, so I won't bore you all.
However there is one thing that wasn't unexpected that still is making
me very happy. I can finally mount my Vivitar 600mm "Solid Cat" on a
camera with modern shake reduction, and reasonably good high ISO
performance. I can't wait to get out and create some doughnut bokeh.
