I much prefer the sky at night over the desert or - when you can see
all the stars and the milky way - which never translates well in photos.
I love living here, but I don't like the city at night at all, and I
hate the glitz, Don't much like modern architecture - all the cities
around the world are starting to look alike, even more so at night...
You captured it well, but if you had not said where you were I wouldn't
know - so therein lies my disinterest.
New York has an abundance of wonderful things - one of the best
is my little rent controlled apartment , the all night deli across the
street, the delicious food of all varieties, the ease of getting around
by foot, bus and train. But my camera and I , these days, prefer
the bounties of nature or the quirky comedies that are sometimes played
out here.

Thanks, Ann... It is very interesting to read from you that you don't
quite care about the "City lights" motif. I would probably be very
fascinated by this motif, should I be living in the Big Apple.

Like the archway -
The city lights are nicely done, just not a subject I care much about.

Liked them both!
By the way, I like the GXR very much also;
pity I haven't gone much opportunity to use it...
Any hints of HDR in these two?

Hi!
I'm mostly in read-only mode on the list these days, but let me offer you
two photos I made recently:
http://pentax-ways.blogspot.co.il/2014/03/2014-08-city-lights.html
http://pentax-ways.blogspot.co.il/2014/03/2014-09-archway.html
It turns out that at f/2.0 Nokton 40/1.4 is very sharp towards infinity
focus. Also it turns out that Ricoh GXR's sensor is pretty darn good for
night photography of the kind I am practicing...
So please have a look and have your say.
Thanks.
Boris
