Yes, once the Auto ISO is turned off, the screen on the rear shows the mode as manual once again.

I still think it's counterintuitive, and a bit of clumsy interface design, for the dial on top to say "M" (for manual mode), while the screen on the back says something entirely different. I'm not going to worry about that tiny quirk though. I'm far too busy and happy enjoying my K-30! :)

Presumably if you turn Auto ISO off it then shows the mode as "M".
