You made it sound like it would be another Pet Rock and would disappear fast. It hasn't done so. It wasn't launched yesterday.
Lots of stuff is old hat. Taking photographs of things and sharing with others is old hat. Doesn't mean it's going to disappear in 3 months, or that there's no possibility of cleverness left in it.
