I encountered this young lady at a local artisans event called Bazaar of the Bizarre, catering to fans of the dark, goth, horror genres, and many other quirky and fun people.
http://www.flickriver.com/photos/bruce_m_walker/13681813295/ It's not a great shot, but the subject is so interesting I figured I'd share it anyway. Miss E's outfit is handmade by herself, including some 300 rivets that she hand punched. She also designed and created the outfit on the mannequin to her left, so she has a soft, frilly side too. :-) What the shot doesn't show is her knee-high boots with 4 inch heels. She is a six foot Amazon, so adding her heels and mohawk in we have a girl towering 7 feet over us. There was quite the buzz around her booth. It just wasn't my day photographically at all. I had preadjusted my K-3 to TAv, F4 and 1/60th sec shortly after leaving my car, but somehow the edials got bumped before I arrived and like a complete newb I completely failed to notice this. Argh!! Every shot I took while at this event was at 1/13th sec, F2.8. As you will imagine I got a lot of complete duds. On top of that there was a mix of ceiling strip fluorescents and bare windows in some rooms only. Somehow this shot was one of a few that came out okay despite the terrible configuration, backgrounds and light. It was just another live and (hopefully) learn experience. -- -bmw -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
