When Ann had her little problem back in December, our own Alban
Bernard (or is it Bernard Alban?) suggested a couple of tools, one of
them being PhotoRec. That didn't really register on me at the time,
and there was no further discussion of it.

However, a recent PetaPixel post is intriguingly entitled "How I Lost
Over a Hundred Photographs to a Corrupted Memory Card, And Got Them
Back" and in that story, the hero is PhotoRec. The beauty of PhotoRec
is that is works cross-platform, so it should be a tool in your
toolbox regardless of whether you are Mac, PC, or Linux.
