Thanks, Rick and Ann. Rick, I think you are right. Too much dead space is the current version. A vertical crop would be stronger.
Ann, I will try to get shots from my four magnolias as the blossoms start to open. In the past three years, conditions have not cooperated until the blooms are fully open to the point of getting ready to fall apart.
