I would assume it's a scam site, I don't see any reason to do it otherwise. As a practical joke it might be aimed at one particular gullible person. Have you looked to see if there are similar sites for Canon and Nikon, it would seem to me that those brands would prove better lures, with a much larger pool of the gullible to draw from.
