Hi Wayne
The new FA 24-90mm gets a lot of nice words from the critics. Especially
it's supposed to be equally good all the way through the whole zoom range
(better than mid range). The FA 4/28-70mm is discontinued (replaced by the
24-90mm) but is very good/good value for money, but slow. I have the Tokina
ATX PRO II 2.6-2.8/28-70mm. It's brilliant, but about the same price as the
24-90mm, I guess. It's discontinued and replaced by a Tokina ATX 28-80mm,
which I have no info on. I wouldn't buy Sigma lenses due to "plastic build
quality".
I guess, I'd go for the FA 24-90mm (great range, very sharp), if affordable!
Or a Tokina ATX 28-70mm (very crisp) if available. Suddently you'll get
razor sharp, pro-looking photographs!
Jens
