a width of "at least" 1600 is now what ebay wants you to send for photos
I set ppi 72 in photoshop and do 2000 width for all my photos there. For my web page I upload larger files, of course, but not displaying
the original size on the web.

But while on this subject, last week I went to upload a few shots to the
Pentax Users Gallery - where they used to ask for images to be 600 "tall" - now they want 900. They are offering that you can upload a larger version of those files that are 600 tall now in you pages - but
I sure don't want to bother with that.

I presume (reasure me guys) that they won't make the older smaller files disappear. AFter my first few photos a while back I stopped doing the work for them and just sent larger files as , I believe, Ken Waller said he was doing and let them scale them down.

Right-click on your Flickr publishing service, choose Edit
Settings..., then look at the Image Sizing section to see what is set
there. I generally set it to Resize To Fit W1600 H1600, Don't Enlarge.

What determines image size when you publish photos to Flickr using the Flickr
