It's universally known and equally universally acknowledged that Canon have the worst metering of all major manufacturers. Not only does tests confirm it, but even Canon users acknowledge that Nikon, Pentax and Minolta have better metering. Andy Rouse says that with his Pentax 645NII he no longer have to guess the exposure like he had to do with his EOS-1v. And even Arthur Morris, sponsored by and and an ardent proponent of everything Canon, admits that Canon have nothing like the Nikon F5's metering capabilities.
