Again...not specific to the K-3...I use an 8G X-2 Pro with a K-5 - set to shoot RAW+JPG with the JPG set to the lowest resolution. I have no need to transfer RAW files to my iPad, but have the card set up to transfer only JPGs to the iPad. The smaller resolution of the JPGs are just fine for iPad viewing and it's much easier to show the base images that way compared to having a bunch of folks around you trying to chimp the LCD on the back of the camera. RAW files get transferred to LR for editing later via a card reader.

I set it to move JPEG+raw to OS X into a Lightroom watched folder. Total trip
time runs about 40-50 seconds from when I make the exposure to the image
appearing in Lightroom, ready for editing, with either camera.

I had it set up on the iPad mini too, but there's really little need for raw
files on the iPad. Maybe with a new mini or iPad Air the raw processing would
be a bit faster (the iPad 2 and iPad mini first gen are both only 512M RAM, raw
processing is kinda slow because of that. Later models have more RAM).

Being old doesn't seem so old now that I'm old.
