Motorcycle travel really makes you scrutinize your priorities!

I'm planning to depart after a meeting I have at school tomorrow
(mid-day) and hope to stop somewhere in Maryland for the night.
Wednesday I'll travel to my friends' cabin in the mountains, just an
hour away from the mountain for a quick drive in on Thursday.

I've decided not to camp out this time, due to the extra effort of
motorcycle travel and the possibility I'll have to pick up some slack
since Doug Brewer won't be there. So no camping gear to pack.

It's come down to a carbon fibre tripod, one camera body (K5) and
three lenses. The lenses are the DA 12-24, the DA-L 50-300 and, of
course, my trusty old DA*16-50. Oh, plus the laptop computer for all
the contest judging business. Most of my kit, including an assortment
of clothing for various conditions, fits into the panniers and the
tank bag – very little (the tripod and some odds & ends) needs to go
into the backpack I'm strapping on the pillion seat.

Almost ready to go!
