So I solved the problem exactly the way B&H probably hoped I would. I
thought about what I might need and looked for it to lock in the free
expedited shipping. I spent about what I saved over all on the two
items I really wanted, one of which is back ordered so I won't be
getting it for about two weeks anyway.

But of course! ;-)
I didn't search for the cheapest things, but the first thing that
came to my mind is the lens cleaning paper for $1.95 or $1.99

There are some microphone holders (but you are probably not using
any audio equipment)... at about the same price.
Unfortunately, they do not sell cheap guitar picks, which would 've
been under a buck.
Some 1/8" to 1/8" audio cables are at $1.89
(check other cables, - RCA cables might be cheaper)
Here some useless (for most) optical adapter for 95c:

The cheapest thing (but probably of no use to you) that I saw is
this RCA-BNC adapter at $0.79:

Oh! I found $0.69 adapter for you:

Unfortunately, $0.20 adapter may not be eligible for that expedited shipping:

There were two items that I was interested in getting from B&H and today
they are both on sale. Even better Free Expedited Shipping on sales
over $49. At regular prices these two things would be well over $49.
On sale however final price $48.95. What the heck could you buy at B&H
for a nickle?
