I'll mess with it a bit. The clipped(?) white on the tower became a nuisance 
and, it was at that point, 
I decided to have it re-scanned. 
I'll take another look tomorrow.

That's a terrific composition, Jack. A wonderful subject.

I'd play around with curves, maybe some dodge & burn, to get blacker
blacks, and darken the slightly distracting foreground.

Rather than scanning, maybe you could shoot the slide with a macro
lens and a flash from behind it, like the Pentax slide copier device.

Well worth the effort of 'rescuing' it.
