Thank you, Bulent. You could be right, she is shy, and quite inexperienced. I'm getting better at directing, so I am semi-experienced. The blind leading the blind. :-)
I think she's a natural though: when I suggested that for the next 20 shots she adopt a new pose and expression after every flash, she did a great job. I got some terrific relaxed expressions that way. For the lighting: a Westcott 28" Apollo softbox as key, C-L and up a bit. Patri was rim-light from her left and right, slightly behind her, with two Apollo Strip softboxes with 40 degree grids, to control spill. I stood on a stool to get that looking down viewpoint. One Pentax AF540FGZ in the key light and Neewer TT560's in the two strips. I never have trouble with getting accurate exposure of black on black since I religiously use my light meter. [This, of course, being the tool derided by just about everyone as completely unnecessary and "we just use the histogram". Good f**king luck using a histogram in a shot like this, folks. ;-) ] On Mon, Jun 9, 2014 at 3:04 PM, Bulent Celasun <[email protected]> wrote: > I liked your lighting. > Would be very happy to hear about the details as well. > (I see you have even managed to > show black on black nicely). > > There is no doubt about her pleasant looks. > However, > I see an "is this OK?" look on her eyes... > I may be wrong... > She seems to be rather too shy for the proper facial expression > which might have fit this pose better. > > Bulent > - You can still expect more from Igor ;) - > --------------------------------------------------------------------- > http://patoloji.gen.tr > http://celasun.wordpress.com/ > http://www.flickr.com/photos/bc_the_path/ > http://photo.net/photodb/user?user_id=2226822 > http://www.pentaxphotogallery.com/artists/bulentcelasun > > > 2014-06-09 21:33 GMT+03:00 Bruce Walker <[email protected]>: >> Patri is back -- I know, yet again -- in a look that said "cabaret" to me: >> >> http://off-axis.brucemwalker.com/image/88292280167 >> >> Unless you care to hear them, I'll spare you all the lighting details. >> K-3 and DA* 16-50/2.8 as usual. >> >> Comments are welcome.
