I agree here guys.I rarely set the D1 above 400 and only until my 'good light'is back then i quickly return to 200.I still rely on 800 or 1600 film for any indoor horse work i hope to either sell or use in the yearbook.

My main argument for not taking the leap to digital has been that the ability to shoot at higher ISOs wasn't there except in pro cameras. I've been seeing more and more under-$1000 cameras claim to shoot at ISO 800, and I've been feeling sick at the investment I've made in optical gear. You've reassured me that, marketing claims nothwithstanding, digital has a way to go before it can shoot credible results in available darkness. Once it can, it will be possible to use a single camera for all ISO needs instead of keeping two or three SLR bodies loaded with films of different speed. Pentax User Stouffville Ontario Canada http://home.ca.inter.net/brooksdj Sign up today for your Free E-mail at: http://www.canoe.ca/CanoeMail - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
