I've shot at that Lower Falls area before but the difference this time was the water flow - alot more than I've seen there.

I am headed back to the Munising area. A repeat of last heat’s workshop. With time at Taq falls and Seney NWR on the way to and from.

What really caught my eye in the close-up shot was the foreground - background contrast in textures. I thought it gave a great feel of depth. Whereas the wide shot was somewhat static. I’m pretty sure I’ve stood in the spot you stood to take that wider shot, and I’ve passed it up. Given the positive reactions you’ve received on that one, I’m going to have to do some more thinking about what is and isn’t attractive to me in that scene.

Thanks for commenting Stan.

In my experience the black flies have been worse in the U P late July to early August. This seems to be a weird year weather/bug wise in the U P. One would think if anything the very cold/snowy winter would have had a detrimental effect on the bug population.

What part of the U P are you headed for?

I very much like the close-up version. The wider version is just sort of there. Good enough but not memorable. I much prefer this close-up POV.

I’ll be in the U.P. in early August. I am hoping that the mosquitos followed you home and the black flies are infesting Ontario.
