The 2007 tour actually started with a time trial in central London, from Whitehall to Westminster, past Buckingham Palace, and on to a finish along The Mall.
The stage that went through Greenwich (and Woolwich & Dartford) and on to Canterbury via Maidstone, Tonbridge & Ashford was run on the following day. I grew up in that area, so I went back to the UK to see this. I got some shots from along the Mall on the first day, and basically one decent shot from a vantage point along the A21 near Ashford on the second day. That's because the auto-focus on my FA* 80-200 apparently packed up after the first shot I took, so that's the only one that's in focus.
