Thanks, Dan, and to everyone else who looked or commented. I was
surprised to see the silky threads of the thistle head - I don't know if
that is the way the plant grows (they do produce a lot of downy seeds)
or if some arachnid or insect left that...

Took a few days off hoping to get some photos, but the weather has not
been cooperating. This little shot in a patch of weeds in the backyard
might be the best thing from this "vacation." (I still have tomorrow...)
