I’m currently wrapping up an article for Sunday’s Times about a Cadillac that served in WWI. In the process I ran across this photo of an automotive graveyard in France that overflows with cars left behind by U.S. servicemen. The caption reads: "One of five motor parks consisting of motor equipment turned in by American Army and Marines before returning to the U.S. in the spring of 1919. This motor park was at Chaumont France.” These cars were auctioned or sold to the French government which redeemed them for scrap value.
