Thanks Stan, and everyone else. I spent 2 nights in Albi, which was a detour from my route because I particularly wanted to see it. It it was worth the trip - lovely place, where you start to say goodbye the ambiance of the Massif Central, and start to feel something of the Mediterranean. Quite a culture shock after the remoteness and unsophistication of the Auvergne and Aveyron.
