Old machine is DOA. I have the files but wasn't sure how likely Dropbox
would be to handle having them moved onto the new drive correctly.
They lied by the way it finished up in a couple of hours.

may i suggest sneakernetting your dropbox folder?
Dropbox (at least on Windows) should sync across the LAN (instead of
the Internet) if you have the old and new machines on the same
network.
