After almost 30 years using Spotmatics, I found out something I never knew about them.
While browsing at the swap meet, I overheard a dealer explaining some of the useful tricks for handling the Spotmatic. He said that if you want the SP or SPF mirror to lock-up, all you have to do is lightly tap the shutter release. I have not had a chance to try it out, but I was gob-smacked when the guy showed me it on a Spotmatic F. Perhaps this might be useful if not enlightening to other Spotmatic users.
