I can't speak to the K5IIs, but the K5 is about a stop less noisy than the K3 if you don't downsize the K3 image to match the K5's smaller pixel count. If you downsample the K3 image to the same as the K5, the noise seems to be very close to equal. Having said that, both are very good indeed.
