...I have no clue whether I have actually won ANY of the prizes yet,
let alone the K-3. And I may have NOT won anything. Unbelievable? Yep.
But that is the way this "contest" has been administered. One would
think that surviving the cut into the next round and winning the final
round would declare the winner. But not in this case.

Here is the "formula" that was revealed (after Round 2 results were known):

*quote*

How will the overall winners be determined?

We will factor in the results of each round
The photographer with the highest overall score will win
Overall score = 0.2 * (round 1 nominations / # of nominations for
highest-ranked image) + 0.5 * (round 2 votes / # of votes for winning
image) + round 3 votes / # of votes for winning image
The maximum theoretical overall score is 1.70, attainable if an image
were to win 1st place in all 3 rounds

*/quote*

There was a runaway winner in Round 2, so it is possible according to
the rules above, that the photographer who took that Round 2 shot
could be the eventual winner, even if he only got approximately 50% of
the votes my photo got in Round 3. And it is likely that has happened,
but since names aren't put to the photos yet, I'm not sure which one
is his.

I'm no mathamatician, but there is something that seems very illogical
to me about the formula (in addition to the "anomaly" I've pointed
out, above.)

Anyway, the poll results have been released, but no word from Adam &
Co. yet on who won according to his "formula". That requires
calculating all 32 3rd round scores, for ALL 3 rounds. They made
themselves a lot of work, if nothing else.

I'll keep you posted. But I wanted to sincerely thank all of you
PDMLers who are also PF members who voted. THANK YOU!

Respectfully,
Darren Addy
