Just a couple of thoughts to add.  First, if you're not home and they
leave a card, they're ~supposed~ to write on the card whether you've got
to pay, and how much.  They don't always do that however, at least around
here.  I've gotten to the P.O. the next day, with a card that indicates
no charges, and found that I've had to pay.  Be prepared...

Second, you're right about UPS, Andre (I don't know about the other Big
Courier Companies).  We've had extensive discussions here in the past, so
I don't want to start anything here, but UPS tried to charge me a $45
brokerage fee (incl. customs and duty and all that) for a bike jersey
that I paid $10US for on eBay.  Needless to say, I refused it (damned
crooks).  The moral, Dave, is always demand that stuff be shipped US
Postal.  Always.
