Thanks, P.J. I'm enjoying the 17-70 quite a bit - the AF is fast and
quite. For me, the focal length range is perfect for a walking around
lens and it has excellent close focusing. I do find it to be a bit soft
wide open but even at f5.6 that is resolved. With IR it creates a very
even image - the 16-45 f4 tends to be much brighter int he middle of the
image (more than vignetting) with IR shots.
