Julia- I'm new here too, but after speaking to fellow PDMLers, I've gotten some stuff on ebay to fill out my system- got another Super Program on the way, got my AF280T flash today, probably will pick up some lenses at KEH shortly.
Personally, if you don't already have screwmount lenses, I wouldn't bother with a screwmount body right now, that's MHO. I needed a screwmount body while my Dad's old Spotmatic goes in for service so that I can conveniently use the lenses I have. JCO hooked me up with an SP1000- thanks, man. I'll shoot a roll of Reala 100 to see how it does this weekend. No Kodak RG100 available near me. Sorry for digressing- to answer your question, I don't think ebay is particularly bad as long as you are careful on what you're bidding and don't get carried away and bid too high.
