On Friday night about 11:15pm there was a very load roaring sound in the
overgrown park outside our yard. I quickly grabbed a torch & camera before
venturing outside to investigate. All the dogs were barking but I could see
nothing. I then drove around the block a couple of times but again drew a
blank. My wife & I decided it must have been a prankster playing a recording
in a car. (Game spotters & poachers use such recordings to attract game).
Then, this morning at Church, our Minister who lives about 100m from us said
he had seen a big Lion in the street outside the Rectory at about 11:30pm on
Friday. So I went hunting for spoor & eventually found this:

The pen is 14cm long so this is a hind-foot. The 4 toes & pad are clearly
visible. I'm hoping someone else was lucky enough to get a photo.
