This past spring (2014), Epson put out on the market two new metallic papers: glossy and luster. After reading feedback from various users, I arrived to the conclusion that glossy version would probably give the most advantages of "metallic".
I just printed a shot on it, and I like it.
One thing I found along the way is that Epson no longer seems to provide paper ICC profiles for R2880 (while most other paper manufacturers who provide ICC profiles for Epson printers, still provide them for R2880).
So, it looks like they are trying to nudge people to buy a new model...
I actualy downloaded and used the paper profile for 3880, and it seems to provide a good result.

I thought this information might be useful.

I found that the lowest prices for Epson metallic papers in Letter (8.5"x11") size is at B&H and Atlex, at least that was a week ago when I ordered mine.
