Thanks for your comments Dan Ann Ken Jack John Christine and Ciprian. Ciprian, the #63 was taken 2 days earlier. I quite liked it until I did the second one, #64, yesterday, but I think the colors in 64 with I think a lower light, dark clouds etc all helping the shot. In fact I had intended to remove #63 from the site and forgot to take that step. I do agree that the sharper reflections in #63 add something to that shot.
We have Canada geese, mallards, Blue Heron, and Egret as regular presences on the river - my ideal would be to get the colors of #64 with the reflections of #63 with the added element of a family of geese or an egret in the “right” place in the frame. We also have large fish in the river, by accident I have come within a half second of catching a jumping fish in one of my river scenes. I could live with a fish in the right place, right time, in lieu of birds in my ideal shot… stan On Oct 15, 2014, at 1:55 AM, Ciprian Dorin Craciun <[email protected]> wrote: > On Wed, Oct 15, 2014 at 2:52 AM, Stanley Halpin > <[email protected]> wrote: >> Not that I am complaining, but it is really hard to get through dinner >> sometimes when the storm clouds start to give way to the afternoon light on >> the river… Fortunately my wife is very tolerant and often, as in this case, >> she is the one who says something like “look behind you, down river - that >> light is special.” So I leave the table, grab the camera, and go out into >> the lingering rain. >> >> http://photos.stanhalpin.com/p155717848/h19a6c1e1#h19a6c1e1 > > This is the exact kind of photo I would want to capture this autumn > (if I had the time).
