The municipal government contracts with a bow hunting club to thin out the herd in the woods adjoining our home. Twice in the last four years, a wounded buck has stumbled into our yard to die, followed a few minutes later by the hunter tracking it The usually give us a couple of bottles of wine in exchange for coming onto our land to remove the buck. (Not that I want to have to remove it myself.) The venison is processed by a local "deer dresser" and donated to local food banks.
I like venison, but I prefer wine (and beef).
