Dan, I'm not sure what's more difficult, reading digests or reading individual messages. All of the messages are in the digests and you still have to look at them to decide what you want to read. I find it much easier to read all new messages and then only read the "Re" or "VS" messages in the threads that interest me. The "Re" messages constitute about 90 percent of the daily traffic. If your mail reader supports watching desired threads and deleting the unwanted ones, you can manage the PDML with ease.
