I suspect the tires were changed at least once, perhaps right after the garage scene. But those are tires designed for drifiting, not race tires, and I believe they’re somewhat hard and rugged. Grippy race tires would probably make those maneuvers more difficult. I’m sure drifting is difficult and requires a lot of practice, but in my book it’s still somewhat of a gimmick. It’s not about performance; it’s about the show. A good show, but a show.
