Just tested it from my ipad and had no problem. I do find though that if I paste a link into an email, those nice people in Cupertino convert it to not-plain so that it won't go through. Thanks guys.
It might be something you can set at the host. My email is all hosted by Microsoft and configured in Outlook, so perhaps you can do something similar.
