> Pop Photo had a nice idea though...a list of good, professional film > processors around the world, and good resources for purchasing film over > seas.
I have come to the same conclusion. I'm travelling around the UK & Ireland in September/October and have tried to find pro labs and stores with a good variety of film. So far the best I have come up with is Calumet for supplying film, and Peak Imaging for processing. Calumet has four stores in London, along with stores in regional cities so I should be able to get what I want and their film prices are excellent, even when you add on the VAT. Peak Imaging is a mail order firm. The very wide variety of processing services they offer seems to be a good indicator of their pro lab status. Unfortunately they don't cater to 6x9 (other than developing), but I was planning to shoot transparencies anyway. They do answer emails promptly though. If anyone in the UK has any experience with either company, or can suggest alternatives I would be happy to hear about them. The searching I have done on the net so far hasn't turned up much at all.
