PDMLers go?

Simon,

One of our PDMLers (in the UK?) recently nabbed one, but it took him four years to
find one. They go on EBay for more than $1000; last year, a couple specimens went for
$1800.

There aren't many fast K-mount 135 choices out there. Most of us are quite happy with
a Pentax SMC 135/2.5K (58mm filter) You might consider Cosina-Voigtlander's 135/2.5
recently introduced 1:1 macro ($500 to $700 in PKA/R mount, I think).

An SMC 120/2.8 can be had for about $200 to $300. It's outstanding.

Don't overlook the Pentax 135/2.8F and FA--very good perfornance, uncommonly well
built, superb close focus (0.7 m), and available new for about $300 to $350. A real
sleeper. Check the archives; an American list member was selling his just a month or
two ago.

I sold my SMC 135/2.5K when, after four years, I finally found a Vivitar Series One
135/2.3 in K mount. The Vivitar is sharper and closer focusing (0.9 m), but the SMC's
colors, contrast, and bokeh are more pleasing.
