Again speaking as a non-AF guy, wouldn't there be an element of prediction (on the camera's part) involved in trap focus, even though adjusting the lens is not part of this particular deal? If the user decides where the desired point of focus is, and gets it near enough to exact that the camera finds it acceptable, don't the electronics have to do some anticipating and compensating in order to have the shutter be open at exactly the right moment? Trap might not be "predictive autofocus" in the same sense as when an F or FA lens is mounted, but wouldn't many of the same algorithms be involved? Somebody, anybody chime in...
