Hi
The K-3 is my most used camera. Use it every single day.
I suppose the only better Pentax camera available for a long time would be the 645Z - it has Live View, ISO above 200.000 and a flipable screen. I can't afford it yet, but someday I may buy a used one :-)

My crystal ball is broke, so I can't help you with the successor to the
K3, but I've had non WR Pentax lenses for over 45 year and I've shot in
snow, rain, hail and desert dust and have never had an issue with any of
my lenses or camera bodies in those conditions. I do my best to at least
cover them when they must be exposed - usually with a cloth, my hat or
some such. I wouldn't pay alot more for any WR lens simply to get WR.

Subject: K3 questions.

A quick de-lurk about two questions before buying my next DSLR.

I was late to change to digital with the *ist D (still a barmy name
for a camera), and bought a K7 somewhat closer to its launch. Since
then I've sold all my other cameras and would like to get another
digital body, and the K3 seems in many ways to be as big a leap as the
previous one to a K7.

Two questions: Before I buy the K3, I'd just like to make sure there
is no likely successor about to be launched (be it K3 II, or IIs, K1
or another daft name); I can wait to get an updated version if there
is one about to be announced in the next couple of months or so.

WR 18-135mm lens: I've more or less made my mind up to get this at the
same time. Whilst I already have a lens that covers this range, it
isn't WR and it nearly always rains to some degree when I use the
camera outside. Previous experience on horrible rainy days tells me WR
is a very good thing. Are there any significant drawbacks to the lens
or is it good for the price (?) - which I hope by buying both together
I might find a deal to be made.

A number of friends have suggested I look at other camera
manufacturers, but it was always a Pentax only search - I just wish
the Ricoh label wasn't on the back of the K3.

Thanks,

Malcolm
