Paul, I think Mishka asked the right question about cost and availability. The K 85/1.8 is one of the most expensive and rare Pentax 35mm lenses. The other two are the A*135/1.8 and the A*85/1.4. You just can't find them, or when you do, they are outrageously expensive.
I know, I know, someone of you traded a used 50mm f2 and some bubble gum wrappers for one. But most of the rest of us, we spend years looking for these lenses. I was lucky. I was offered the 135 in my first year of so reading the list. It took another 2 years to find the 85/1.4. And the K85/1.8 was hardest of all. Cotty recently posted a tip on one to the list, and I called England at 6AM Chicago time on a Saturday morning to grab the deal. They just don't come along that often! Regards, Bob S. Actualy now i think about i didnt see another one, but i know of a list member who got another one on ebay in the last few months, so thats 3 that i saw. Quite a few list members have them and i cant recall a bad work ever being said about the lense.
