I want a CoolScan 8000, and I want it bad. But I haven't seen one for
less than $2000. How can I convince my wife that we need one? It's a
dilemna. But I have to have one. The Agfa Duoscan 2500T that I use at
work suffered a mirror alignment problem, and since it's a lease,
they're just going to send it back. There's one more of those suckers at
work, but it's hooked to a R E A L L Y S L O
W Power Tower computer, and it's lease days are numbered. The
computer folks who handle all that stuff for our company aren't going to
go that deep on scanners next time around. They realized that art
directors don't need 4000dpi scans to make comps. BUT I NEED THEM TO
MAKE PRINTS! They just don't get it. (Sigh). So I may have to get the
CoolScan 8000. On the other hand, I wonder what happens to those Agfa
monster scanners when they go off lease?
