1. Mz-S: My most used film body still.
2. *ist: I only discovered this recently but use it almost as much as
the Mz-S. Probably the best AF of any Pentax film body and handling very
similar to the modern DSLRs. But rather fragile and prone to breaking.
(I'm on my 3rd body in 2 years with this one.)
3.Pz-1p - such a well spec'd camera with incredible features. I shot
thousands of rolls with mine and loved it. One of the 2 Pz-1p's that I
had is still running and use it once in a while. AF is a real weak point.
If there was a 4th and 5th place I'd add the LX and ME Super.
As nice as the Mz-S is - the design could never be ported to a DSLR
since it relies on using the aperture ring to adjust the aperture in AV
or manual mode. Even if Pentax created a DSLR that supported use of the
aperture ring, lenses without the ring would be limited to TV and
Program modes only. A derivative design could maybe be made, but it
would by necessity differ significantly from the Mz-S.

Your top 3 Pentax film bodies, with reasons for each.
For me (though I have held but never fully used all of them)
1. MZ-S perfect ergonomics
2. LX sound design
3. KX unbreakable
