The concept of corporate successor says you're wrong. Besides, the
Pentax engineers and manufacturing facilities are now a large part of
Ricoh imaging. So even though Asahi Optical, (later Pentax), has
ceased to exist. They have a corporate successor with a clear line of
descent.
