Well shot, especially the first one - they look almost like dinosaurs!
Mark,
Ha-ha! I didn't think about that comparison at this point, but you are
right. Actually, I've heard this a few times that birds are the nearest
to dinosaurs living today creatures.
... and I notice that resemblance when looking at the chicken carcass
at the end of the dinner. ;-)

Last weekend we went to the Dallas Zoo.
This was the second time I went to this zoo.
They have several shows and "encounters with animals", where there is some
action happening with the animals. What I like about those is that (unlike at
many other zoos) they also actively mention such important issues as
conservation, recycling, etc. This especially important for the kids that are
the major part of the audience.
They have a bird show where they bring out various interesting birds.
Some of those birds do some tricks (such as getting a dollar bill from a hand
and putting it in the donation box).
Unfortunately, this time we came to the amphitheater as the show was
starting, and all good seats were taken. So, my seat wasn't good for
photography. I managed to grab just a few snapshots.
Here is one of the birds (I don't remember the name) with a long beak
caught in the flight:

And here is the dollar-grabbing act:

Comments and suggestions are welcome!

PS. If someone is interested, a few more images of birds (and one extra) are
