Beautiful panning and composition. Think I can smell the rubber and fuel*and am 
holding my ears. 1,000 foot strip back in '82?

Subject: PESO Fast and Furious, 1983

Dug out some negs for a drag racing article I’m working on, and scanned this 
never-seen shot. It’s Joey Amato’s top fuel car at the 1982 Summernationals in 
Englishtown, NJ. Joey is apparently putting a beating on someone in the other 
lane. It was probably shot with my Fuji ST 801 and a Fuji normal lens — 50/1.8 
I think. Tri-X for sure. Panning from right behind the guardrail at about the 
100 foot mark on the track.
