The ME Super was my first Pentax. Bought it in '81 and still have it. Picked up a Super Program which had been taken in by a local camera shop in which I was beginning to display work. Loved the ME Super and after the "program" fascination wore off, right after pointing it around and watching the program activation, put it in the bag as a back up. Honestly, I don't recall ever digging it out for a shot. Incidentally, have virtually never shot in other than aperture priority. Maybe a time or two when trying for humming birds in "catch in focus." When I went digital, with the introduction of the K-10, I ebayed all including an LX and MZ-S, along with all lenses and flashes. The ME Super and Super Program received no shipping cost takers on ebay. I've since worked my way up to the K-3 with the K-5 as back up. Who cares..right? ;)

I had an ME from 1979 until it died in about 1996, and enjoyed using it. Didn't mind that it was aperture-priority at all. I also got one free in a bigger deal, which I still have, but it will only work with manually controlled flash, for some reason - I guess the meter's dead. They are small compared with today's monsters, but I have narrow hands so that suits me well. I've had, at some point, a whole stack of Pentax film cameras. I liked and could be happy with the K2, K2DMD, MX but above all of them by some way, the LX. The ME, ME Super I just didn't get on with, but as I now have a freebie, I'm going to see if I can live with it until a certain LX comes my way. What I immediately noticed, was how small the camera is compared to a DSLR, being so long since I picked up a film camera. Most manufacturers seem to be doing their best to makes DSLRs smaller and lighter, but please, not for me. I really like a larger camera with a bit of weight that you don't have to fiddle about with tiny controls (although they can get rid of the pop up flash, if they want to save weight!).
