Well caught, Jack. I admire your patience. identifying immature eagles can be very difficult. We have several smaller ones which all look about the same.

Watched this immature Bald (some day) Eagle finish off it's prey perched on the right hand broken limb. Must have taken "it" 30 or 40 minutes of arm numbing time holding the K-3/55~300. Finally finished and flew almost directly toward me. With the right quartering morning back light, he was all but a complete silhouette and this is the only shot in which he was low enough to catch any light.
After that punishing wait, I was bound to put it up. ;)
