Hi Fred, I wasn't shocked. Mine has done the same thing to me. I'm certainly no bokeh expert, but it seems to me that with mine (and in the web examples that you've shown) that it does very poorly with out of focus specular highlights. I have a couple of informal portraits with some highlighted foliage in the background, and the bokeh is awful. On the other hand, I have a few that look pretty good...but no out of focus specular highlights.
